Sal & Rob’s Glencoe Elopement

This day was something else! It’s pretty rare that the sun shines so bright in Glencoe, the Scottish highlands is known for its unreliable weather, but wow, the light beaming through the clouds on this day was just stunning witness.

This day was planned & styled by These Wild Lovers, which is a project that myself, my husband, and our photography & videography friends Joanna & Nathan have been working on for the past couple of years! We style & host elopement sessions so that other photographers and videographers hoping to build a portfolio which reflects their desire to work in the highlands can attend and capture something beautiful! It truly was an incredible day.

Sal & Rob, our models for this elopement shoot in Glencoe, are actually past clients of mine! My husband and I photographed and filmed their wedding at Winton Castle back in 2019, and we instantly became good friends. They’re such a lovely couple and we’ve photographed them a few times since their day, so we knew that they were comfortable in front of a camera and we also knew we had a great relationship with them, which made them the perfect models for this day!

We limited to number of attendees to 5, since we wanted this to be an intimate, realistic experience for each attendee. We started off setting the scene, photographing the stunning Glencoe Valley, before moving down to the ceremony location where Ashton, our celebrant for the session, conducted a humanist hand fasting ceremony for Sal & Rob. It was so special because these two truly do love each other, and they wrote personal vows, which were so emotional and the whole thing just felt so authentic and special. We then captured some couple portraits in the ceremony location before moving on the explore more of the stunning scenery of Glencoe!

Here are a selection of some of my favourite images from the day…
