Sunset in a Beautiful Place

“From sunrise to sunset, let the Lord’s name be praised!”
Psalm 113:3
Matt and I went to the Roaches in the Peak District to do some work on a project of ours (which I will make a separate post about soon!) And at the end of the day, we caught the sunset at such a beautiful point, I really wanted to share it.

“A large drop of sun lingered on the horizon and then dripped over and was gone, and the sky was brilliant over the spot where it had gone, and a torn cloud, like a bloody rag, hung over the spot of its going. And dusk crept over the sky from the eastern horizon, and darkness crept over the land from the east.”
John Steinbeck

We ventured over to a side of the roaches that we don’t usually go to, and found some beautiful fields and watched the sun set over the peaks. I mean, we were freezing cold because it was super windy, but it was amazing.

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add colour to my sunset sky.”
Rabindranath Tagore

This field was so beautiful, the colours brought to mind so many memories of summers growing up in the countryside.

“The Lord is high over all the nations; God’s glory is higher than the skies! Who could possibly compare to the LORD our God? God rules from on high; he has to come down to even see heaven and earth! God lifts up the poor from the dirt and raises up the needy from the garbage pile to seat them with leaders— with the leaders of his own people!”
Psalm 113:4-9
